Terms and Conditions

Please ensure you have read and understood these Terms and Conditions prior to booking. By placing a booking you are deemed to have read, understood and accepted them.

Contract of Sale

Completion of the booking process and acceptance of our terms and conditions forms your contract with Teach Your Gundog The contract contains the final and entire agreement and understanding between the parties and is the complete and exclusive statement of its terms.

Payment

Payment for all courses, pre-assessments and assessments must be made in advance. It is not possible to attend a course unless payment has been received. We accept payment by BACS, PayPal, credit/debit card online. Please note that it is the student’s responsibility to ensure that payments are made in full and on time. Payments for short courses, pre-assessments and assessments are payable in full 42 days (six weeks) prior to commencement of the event and are subject to the same cancellation policy herein.

Cancellations

Cancellations must be made by email to hello@teachyourgundog.co.uk

Cancellations for all bookings made with Teach Your Gundog (with the exception of our 121s, which are only transferable and non-refundable) will be subject to the following fees:

Cancellations received less than 28 clear days before the course start date will be charged the full course fee. You will not be entitled to a refund. For example, if your course runs on the 30th and 31st, the latest date to cancel without paying the full fee is the 2nd.
Cancellations received between 28–42 clear days before the start date will be charged 50% of the course fee. You will be entitled to a refund of 50% of the full course fee.
Cancellations received more than 42 clear days before the start date will be charged 30% of the course fee. You will be entitled to a refund of 30% of the full course fee.

We understand that life happens - unexpected injuries, illness, or personal circumstances can arise. As such, in genuine unforeseen circumstances, credit may be offered at our discretion for cancellations.

If you’re cancelling due to a serious reason such as injury, illness, or a personal emergency, please explain clearly when emailing us. In some circumstances, we may ask you to provide written proof such as a note from your vet, or doctor.

Credit will not be offered for avoidable circumstances, such as choosing to attend another event, accidentally double-booking yourself, or any other reason where you and your dog are still physically able to attend the training but are choosing not to.

If credit is granted:

It will be valid for 6 months from the date of issue.
It can only be redeemed once. For example, if a class booking is transferred and you’re then unable to attend the new date, further credit will not be offered.
We reserve the right to refuse credit if we believe someone is excessively taking advantage of our goodwill.

Last-minute cancellations have a big impact on small businesses like ours, especially when we’re unable to fill places at short notice or resell those taken by people using credit. We'll always try to be flexible where we can. Thank you for your understanding.

Replacements/transfers/deferrals

Courses: A replacement student/delegate may be named up to 7 days prior to the start of the course for an administration fee of £50.
Pre-assessments & assessments: Transfers/deferrals for pre-assessments and assessments may be requested up to 42 days before the assessment date subject to a £50 administration fee. No transfers for pre-assessments or assessments will be available after the 42 day cut off period and our cancellation fees policy will apply.

Course Content

Teach Your Gundog reserves the right to change the content, timing, date, venue, tutors, presenters or assessors of the course. Teach Your Gundog reserves the right to cancel a course up to and including the date of the course and will strive to give as much notice of this as possible. Individuals booked onto a cancelled course will be given the option of a full refund or taking a place on an alternative or re-scheduled course date. Teach Your Gundog will not be liable for any losses or expenses arising from amendments to the course or cancellations.

Dogs

Teach Your Gundog and any venue at which a Teach Your Gundog course is held will not be held responsible for dogs being kept in vehicles in car parks, or harm incurred to any dog(s), as a result of being left unattended in vehicles at any of our courses. Anyone bringing a dog(s) to any Teach Your Gundog event is responsible for that dog(s) and its welfare at all times. Teach Your Gundog accepts no responsibility for any dog or its welfare at any Teach Your Gundog activity.

Client Disclosure and Honesty

By engaging the services of Teach Your Gundog, the Client agrees that all information provided regarding their animal’s behaviour, history, and any relevant circumstances is truthful, accurate, and complete to the best of their knowledge. The Client acknowledges that withholding, misrepresenting, or failing to disclose pertinent details, such as previous aggression, medical conditions, or behavioural concerns, may pose a significant risk to the safety of the practitioner, the Client, the animal, and others. Under the Animal Welfare Act 2006, all animal owners and keepers have a legal duty of care to ensure the welfare of their animals and to prevent harm to others. In the case of dogs, the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 and related legislation impose additional responsibilities to prevent a dog from being dangerously out of control. Failure to provide full and honest disclosure may result in the immediate termination of services without refund, and Teach Your Gundog shall not be held liable for any consequences arising from such omissions. The Client accepts full responsibility for any legal repercussions that may arise from undisclosed behavioural issues or other relevant factors.

Intellectual Property

Teach Your Gundog remains the owner of all intellectual property in course materials. For educational purposes some course content may use intellectual property belonging to The Gundog Trust this will be identified during the course and will remain the property of The Gundog Trust. Course materials are supplied only for your personal use. No part of the materials may be copied, recorded or reproduced without the permission of Teach Your Gundog or when relevant the permission of The Gundog Trust.

Data Protection

Any personal information you give to us will be processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018. We will use the information to process your booking, to provide the course and to inform you about similar courses that we provide, unless you tell us that you do not want to receive this information. Any personal data you provide may be held on computer files.

Insurance

Teach Your Gundog has adequate insurance cover for public liability and professional indemnity. Teach Your Gundog reserves the right to unilaterally amend and update the above Terms and Conditions at any time, including increasing the cost of cancellations fees.

Terms

Limitations
